About Us
Progressive Housing Society is a not-for-profit, charitable society located in Burnaby, B.C. Originally
called the Burnaby Association for the Emotionally Disabled, Progressive Housing
Society has been providing affordable housing and support services for adults with
mental illness, to enable them to live independently in the municipality of Burnaby,
since 1981.
Progressive Housing Society services are designed to assist those with
serious or persistent mental illnesses to live as independently as possible. We
encourage clients to set their own unique goals and develop an individualized plan
for services. Support workers from PHS work together with clients and professionals
from Burnaby Mental Health Services to help them achieve those goals.
WHAT WE DO
We develop, operate and maintain a range of affordable housing options,
and encourage active client participation in the society and the community. The
Progressive Housing Society focuses on assisting clients in developing and maintaining
skills required to live independently, and offers affordable housing options for
program participants.
